Got to Get Going

Ouch, another sunrise, just want to close my eyes and cower inside
Hide inside myself, put life on the shelf, take a break from this crazy ride
Aches and pain wrack this earthen frame that carries my tired and lonesome soul
But life cries out to me, will not let me be, tells me that the show must go on.

I love paragraph poetry; I used to write like this a lot. Lends itself well to the stream-of-consciousness flow. And I completely agree with you ... every single morning.

Hi Duane, you describe universal feelings so well! The earthen frame especially good - this self of clay, this self stuck here in the mundane! (Ugh!) Know the feeling. K.

I am going to have to comment with my old outlawyer blog. This is Manicddaily - http://Manicddaily.wordpress.com

yep, the show most certainly does go on, and we just have to push ourselves. It's tough, but what must be done must be done. Great piece. thanks

Yep, know that moment. "No rest for the wicked!" my Gran would have said.

Get started in the morning is always hard. That motivation to move into the day must come from inside, and getting that is often the hardest thing to do. Life just doesn't stop, and it seems that we must, duty-bound, take it on and continue the ride. There's a terror to that, and it comes out in your poem very real, very raw.
