When he was asked about Air Drop being disabled on iPhones in China, he also refused to comment. This was a big deal if you are a dissenter in China, according to news sources, the Chinese Government surveils their citizens which makes it hard for dissenters to communicate without the government listening in. However, with the Air Drop feature on the iPhone, individuals can communicate peer to peer without the Chinese official listening in. By disabling the Air Drop feature for iPhones in China, it made so protestors could not communicate without being listened to. My question to Tim Cook is this, Did Apple do this on purpose and why would Apple want to work with a Communist regime against their citizens? Two valid questions Cook should answer, two questions the media needs to be asking.
Paul dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05921671426156501151noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7863659810539003231.post-72392575551367732632022-11-30T20:52:00.001-08:002022-11-30T20:52:28.761-08:00Blue Ridge State of MindWhat is Blue Ridge, is it a quaint little town in North Georgia? Is it a tourist trap? Another vacation getaway or a place to escape to from the big city? Or maybe just a place for the money makers to make a dollar or two. Well it is more than that to me, it is my hometown that has been invaded by the masses, people trying to find something to fill their empty souls. Will they find that magic something here that will satisfy their souls or will they find outstretched hands of locals trying to capitalize on their wondering hearts. For you that will venture to visit this wonderful place called Blue Ridge, Ga, know this, Blue Ridge now is a far cry from the place I remember growing up in. It was a place that you looked forward to going on Saturday morning, sometimes it was a haircut from the well known local barber shop, maybe a visit with the local bank or a special trip to Western Auto for guns, ammo, including bb for my Daisy BB rifle or new arrows for my recurve bow I got for Christmas. Anyways it was a treat to go to downtown not just on Saturday morning but through the week as well. I fear those days will never return but i still remember a small town that was alive with people, real people who were just trying to make a living who came to town because they needed the elemental necessities of life, People who went to downtown Blue Ridge because they needed something, a product or a service not those busybodies who wonder aimlessly along overfilling their bellies amd dart in and out of shops that sell nothing I need in particular who hold very little appeal to me. So come on to Blue Ridge, you may enjoy your stay but you wil never know her like i knew her,we go back a long way. We had a birthday party there yesterday evening for my grandson. The service, food and price were good. First off, the price; at $10 dollars a head for all you can eat (drink not included), it is an awesome bargain. The salad bar was fresh with a very good variety of toppings to top your salad, (you can make a meal out of your salad). They have a decent selection of pizza including desert pizza. The only negative is that the pizza is not high quality such as Pizza Hut in Blue Ridge, Ga which I hope to visit soon and write a review. Not to pricey at $12.59 when compared to other downtown restaurants and a ample amount of some awesome tasting southern cuisine, Southern Charm’s homemade Meatloaf is a winner in my book. If you are looking for a good place to eat in Blue Ridge, I highly recommend Southern Charm, a nice down home restaurant that has a whole array of some of the finest southern cooking in town. Not only good food but a friendly welcoming atmosphere that focuses not only on good tasting food but fast, friendly stellar service.
Paul dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05921671426156501151noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7863659810539003231.post-21711440851873746202019-07-27T14:00:00.001-07:002020-01-10T12:15:27.339-08:00Places to Walk in Blue Ridge Georgia
Found a good place to walk in Blue Ridge, it is the old camping sites in the Green Creek ares of Blue Ridge Lake. Nice little paved loop that follows the shoreline of the lake. You can access this by going to Dry Branch Road either off of Aska Rd or Old Hwy 76. The loop is right past boat ramp across from cemetery on opposite side of road. If you are looking for a good walking place that is a pretty walk without heading into the deep woods this is a good place.
While Cracker Barrel may not be fine dining, you still get the experience of being served at a full service restaurant, which customarily is followed by a gratuity by the guest. With Cracker Barrel having lower prices on their menu items that most sit-down full service restaurants some might wonder what is an appropriate tip to leave the server. Being a server at Cracker Barrel myself I might be biased on what I think an appropriate tip may be so I will not give a dollar amount but just give a little insight on various factor that affect server pay at Cracker Barrel. The first factor is menu prices.

If you tip based on the amount of the check then here are some things to consider. Cracker Barrel already has low prices but in addition to that they allow kids of all ages to order off the kids menus with meals that come wit a free drink for kids dinners (drinks not included with breakfast). This can drastically lower a check, so if you tip percentage, then you might leave two dollars on a ten dollar check for a few kids meals. That sounds fair and just and I reckon it is but realize this, that server had to take just as many steps as if you had ordered a rib-eye steak, had to refill your drink maybe worked just as hard serving your kids meal as if you had ordered a big meal. People save money by ordering kids meals, if a server gives good service why not compensate them by forgetting about percentages and giving a decent tip if a person can afford it.

Servers work hard at Cracker Barrel Old Country to serve good food at affordable prices, consider rewarding them based on quality of service and not just on ticket prices. I hope to post more later on on other factors to consider when tipping your servers at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. My hope is to educate people on things to consider when dining out at Cracker Barrel as far as tipping goes. In the course of the day I wait on all kinds of people from various walks of life, who leave all kinds of tips. Tips range from the extremely generous to non-existent known as getting stiffed, I want people to think as they tip and hopefully reward their servers proportional to their level of service.Paul dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05921671426156501151noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7863659810539003231.post-45954724083673575262018-06-03T21:03:00.000-07:002018-08-18T19:39:21.459-07:00Dolphin s at Gulf World Panama City Beach Florida
Pictures of one of the dolphin shows at Gulf World in Panama City Beach. Gulf World features two dolphin shows, one with sea lions and dolphins and another with just dolphins. Gulf World is by no means Sea World but was a nice place to visit and to be able to see some marine creatures up close. There are many eating establishments in Blue Ridge but tonight was a Waffle House night after an awesome Bible Study at my mother-in-laws house. I was late getting there as in I had to go by Walmart first, so I walked in to my three sons already chowing down on some Waffle House grub. I was not sure what I was going to eat but when I seen my oldest son eating some gravy and biscuits, I made up my mind right away. I ordered the gravy and biscuit and two egg meal that included a drink for six bucks, I also added a waffle to my meal. I was really impressed with the taste of the gravy and biscuits, the gravy tasted really good and the biscuit as well. I asked the cook how they prepared the biscuit and he told me that they cut them in half, buttered them and cooked them on the grill. Anyways to make a long blog post short, the meal was excellent, being a waiter at Cracker Barrel Old

Anyways to make a long blog post short, the meal was excellent, being a waiter at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store I really appreciated the gravy and biscuit which is also a favorite at Cracker Barrel. Looking for a place to eat in Blue Ridge? Why not stop in at Waffle House, good food at a reasonable price.
What is the purpose of posting your thoughts on the internet for all interested to see? For me, it started out for me trying to make some extra money from Google Adsense, ads that are generated on your blog site that earn money for the writer. To be brutally honest I have yet to reach the payment threshold which is $100 U.S. dollars, after blogging for several years. Currently, I am at $50.60, halfway there. So perhaps you might consider blogging as a potential source of income, but do not quit your regular job yet. Making money with Adsense depends on many factors such as traffic to your blog, ads that it generates and whether or not your audience clicks on the ads or not. However being diligent in posting fresh, relevant, evergreen, well-written content will increase your potential to make money with your blog.

I see nothing wrong with trying to make some extra income from your blog but aside from making money why else should you blog? To be heard, I believe most people who have something to say want to be heard. I believe the popularity of FaceBook is partly because it gives people a platform where they can share what's on their mind. So then why not just FaceBook? Good question, many share their thought on FaceBook, or/or Twitter, and that is great for most people. But what about a long post such as I am sharing, might seem too long for FaceBook, too many words for Twitter but as a blog post it is just fine. For me, I feel freer writing blog posts than other social media because it goes out to strangers rather than friends and family, things I blog about may not be something I want to share with people I know. I know that sounds strange, call me a weirdo, whatever, that is my hangup. Apart from making money, having a platform to be heard from is another reason to blog.

Another reason to blog is a good one and an unselfish one is to be a help to others. To be able to take your knowledge and share with others via the world wide web is a great privilege we have in our modern day tech-rich society. It is a good thing to take the knowledge and gifts God has given you and share that so that others might benefit from it. As a Christian, I can use my blog to share my faith and tell others about how Jesus died for their sins and how God raised Him on the third day, and how they can have eternal life by placing their faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins and the salvation of their soul. Sorry for the run-on sentence but just wanted to take an opportunity to share Jesus and give an example of how a blog can be used to benefit others.

Lastly, blogging is a good therapy, a good way to get things off your chest, out of your mind and into written words. For me, knowing someone might read my words is an incentive for me to write them in a blog along with the potential to make Adsense revenue. I have always enjoyed writing and blogging gives me an outlet for my writing.

Should you blog? Is it for you? Maybe it is, maybe no. Perhaps it could be a way to share all that wisdom and knowledge that is crowding that brain of yours. Maybe it could turn into a stream of extra income, might be able to quit your day job. Or it might just be a good outlet for the writer in you to
publish your thoughts to an unlimited audience.
Is There Life Beyond the Grave?

This is the question that many wonder about, is there life after death? To find the answer perhaps we should look to the one who was raised from the dead some 2000 years, none other than Christ Jesus. Jesus was crucified, died and a few days later was seen by his followers; who testified to Him being alive. There are many resources online and in print that testifies to the historical evidence for Jesus, here is one such source http://coldcasechristianity.com/2014/is-there-any-evidence-for-jesus-outside-the-bible/. There is, of course, the bible of which some scholars say is a very accurate history book, but I wanted to share a source outside the bible to get an unbiased answer to the question of life after death. You might also consider first-century disciples of Jesus who died for testifying of the risen Christ, it is highly unlikely that they would die for a hoax. So is their life after death, Jesus died, rose again and says to those who place their trust in Him, because I live, you will also. "I am going away but if I go away I will come back and receive you to myself that where I am you may also be", words of Jesus Christ, John 14

The fireworks were held last Friday night in McCaysville. I do not know of any major fireworks in and around Blue Ridge or the McCaysville/ Copperhill area on the Fourth of July unless Ducktown, Tennessee is having them, they may have had theirs already too. So here is a video I put on YouTube of last Friday's Fireworks in McCaysville.

Nice surprise at Cracker Barrel last week, Josh Holloway, well known for his role as Sawyer in the his series Lost stopped in to eat at the popular casual dining establishment. When I asked him for a picture he was very nice and only asked that I let him finish his meal. He did not seem irritated or put out by the request but reacted rather graciously, which was awesome. Josh Holloway showed himself to be a class act in my book, he gets my respect. This boat ramp is not far from Blue Ridge. Take Hwy 76 to end of town and turn right on Aska rd. Take Aska road for about 3 miles and turn right on to Dry Branch road, this road goes by the lake and comes back out on Old Hwy 76.Paul dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05921671426156501151noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7863659810539003231.post-43788549250563858572017-04-28T23:21:00.001-07:002017-04-28T23:28:56.960-07:00Blue Ridge Lake Level Coming Up

Took this picture Wednesday, April 26 while taking a little ride around Blue Ridge Lake via Dry Branch road. This is the boat ramp in what is known to the natives as Green Creek. As you can see by the picture, Lake Blue Ridge is almost full.
I purchased a Poulan Pro 42 in. 17-1/2 riding mower at my local Home Depot in good ole Blue Ridge, Ga. using my Home Depot consumer credit card with a mailed coupon that allowed me to buy said mower at 0% interest if paid within 18 months. The boys at Home Depot loaded my mower on my 97 Ranger which barely contained the machine and sent me own my merry way. When I arrived at my house I was delighted to find that I could back my little Ford against a bank on the lower side of my yard and was able to drive the Poulan Pro mower right outta my truck onto my grass. After getting the mower off the truck I drove it up to my front yard where it used up all the gas the good folks at Home Depot had put in it. So I filled the little black beast up with the Ethanol-free gas I purchased from the Citgo in Blue Ridge at the corner of HWY 515 and HWY 5 (if you don't already do it I suggest you use Ethanol-free gas in all your lawn equipment especially those with a Briggs and Stratton engine like the Poulan Pro). After fueling the mower I decided to give it a try on my yard, which had not been mowed since last summer. The Poulan mowed fine but it bogged down it places where the grass was extremely thick, no problem with that just glad to have a riding mower, my first I might add. After mowing a good bit I drove it up a trail in the woods just for the fun of it, which was not as fun as I imagined. Upon getting back from my jaunt in the woods I realized I had a problem with the mower, the mowing deck would not engage, a riding mower that won't mow, not good. I am not a mechanic but I got down and gave it a look underneath and realized the belt that works the blades had came off one of the pulleys, so I somehow managed to put it back on and I was happy to discover I had a riding mower that mowed once again. I mowed a little more until dark begin to set in but soon found out the mowing deck belt had come off again, I discovered this by the terrible smell of rubber getting too hot as the belt was getting hot underneath the mower due to coming off the pulley again.

To make a long blog post short and get back to the title of the post, seeing I was in a dilemma with my newly purchased Poulan Pro riding mower that did not mow, I drove back up to the Home Depot in Blue Ridge. Upon walking into the store, the man at the customer service counter recognized me since he had rung in the sale on the mower and asked how he could help or something like that, he seemed to sense something was wrong. I explained the problem asking him what could we do and he had a solution, one I liked. He said that they would bring me a new Poulan Pro out and pick up the other one the next day. I thought to my self, "Great deal." But as I though about it something else came to mind so I voiced it. I asked if I could get a Club Cadet mower instead and pay the difference since they are a better mower, he said yes. Such a quick resolution to this problem made my evening, hats off to this Home Depot associate and hats off to Blue Ridge Home Depot.
As I listened to his pro-American/make America Great again message I begin to consider him as someone I might vote for. I must admit that I was torn between Donald Trump and Ted Cruze at the outset but the more I listened to Trump the more I begin to like his message. Now before I lose you attention I will give the reasons I love Donald Trump.
1. He is pro-America. It is good to have a leader that at least to me seems to have America's best interest in mind.
2. He is a hard worker. You almost expect someone as rich as Trump to lounge around, lapping up the excess of luxury, not so with Donald. Donald Trump reportedly works harder and more than a lot of people not near his age, including myself.
3. He appears to have raised some good children, They carry themselves with class, not has snobbish rich kids.
4. Very classy wife.
5. He seems to be very down to earth. I do not perceive him as one of the elite class, but as one of us. His riches do not seem to have went to his head.
6. Seems to have good common sense.
7. Speaks his mind.
8. His policies such as the Wall, repeal Obamacare, tax breaks, destroy ISIS, vetting the refugees, not afraid to say radical Islam, calling out the media, Keystone Pipeline just to name a few.

Just a few reasons why I love President Donald Trump. I know he is not perfect, he is not the Messiah or savior of the universe but just a man. But I am very proud to say that the man Donald Trump is my president.Paul dhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05921671426156501151noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7863659810539003231.post-42742230926215137682017-02-25T22:02:00.001-08:002017-05-13T22:03:46.841-07:00MAKE MONEY ON AMAZON MECHANICAL TURK

It is no secret that you can make money selling stuff on Amazon, or sell your book through Amazon Kindle services but what some people may not realize is that they can make money doing online tasks. These tasks are available on the Amazon Mechanical Turk site. The tasks pay as little as a penny per task to upwards of $10 or more per task. Some of the tasks are very easy, some are hard, but they are all done for the most part from your computer. Something I personally do is take surveys, the surveys can range from around $.40 to $5.00 or more and usually take from 10 minutes to 45 minutes to complete, give or take a few minutes. To some this may seem like a waste of time, but if you want to make a little extra money when you are just sitting around watching TV or doing nothing at all, you may want to give this a chance.
