Elks in Cherokee, North Carolina
Coming back from Pigeon Forge Tennessee we we came upon these magnificent beasts just outside Cherokee, North Carolina. These were just on the left past the Visitors Center as you come off the mountain on the road that takes you to Gatlinburg, TN. Big animals, one onlooker commented, " lots of meat."

Mud or Snapping Turtle trying to Get Outta the Road
While driving through the North Ga mountains of Fannin County today, me and my daughter came across this cute little rascal. If you come across one of these i would recommend not picking it up or trying to pet it. Around these parts we call these critterd snapping turles or mud turtles, i have heard folks around here say that they will bite you. I suppose that is where the name snapping turtle originated. This was on the road that runs along Noontootla creek, it is a beautiful drive, the towering Hemlocks and the rushing creek with mini-waterfalls and rapids are gorgeous. Just be careful to watch out for the snapping turtles.

What to Blog About
Maybe you are wondering if blogging is for you ( I wonder the same thing.) I have had a few blogs for several years now and find that I do not post very often. I was excited at first, the thought of having my writing read by readers all over the globe sounded awesome, throw in some adsense revenue and it sounded really good. I had this vision of making enough money off my blog through google adsense that I would be able to quit my day job. I imagined a life of traveling around with my laptop and writing for a living, make a long story short, did not turn out that way. I still work at Cracker Barrel waiting tables, and have made a grand total of $49 and some odd cents from adsense. So now I am just writing this post contemplating about continuing my writing, blogging whatever I may do with words. I titled this post ' What to Blog About ' but I guess it is better titled 'What to Write or Whether to Write'.
Could be I am just intrigued by the thoughts of being a writer, always has kinda fascinated me or maybe it is part of my destiny, who knows and if you are reading this you are probably thinking who cares. Any how, maybe I will get it figured out.
If you are thinking about blogging, why not give it a try. Blog about things that you are passionate about, things within your realm of expertise or if you have an interesting life write about yourself and your daily activities. As for myself, I do not know where my writing goes from here. Have a good life and God bless.

Trip to Olive Garden December 2015
I recently received a $50 gift card to Olive Garden, today we decided
to use it. It has been almost a year since I had visited Olive Garden
so I was not aware that they had little electronic tablets on the
table that you could use to call your server, pay with and also to
play games on. A good idea I guess, convenient but I thought it a bit
tacky that to play the unlimited games on the device you are charged
$2 which is added on to your bill. My wife and daughter mentioned it
but I wasn't paying them much mind and having not read the fine print
I hit the button on the screen to play a game. Whammo, two bucks on to
my bill. It was my fault so not complaining so much about the $2 but
it just seems to diminish the class of an otherwise somewhat classy
Italian restaurant to be charging patrons $2 to play games when
probably most have smart phones with their own games. I know it brings
in a little extra revenue for Olive Garden but no pun intended it
seems a little cheesy to me. In my opi
nion, I have always thought Olive Garden was a little classier
establishment than to resort to such ploys to make a few bucks. Guess
it's just the days we living in.
However, the food was good, service excellent, good to have WiFi,
which as they advertised was free but who charges anymore anyways, just
surprised that Olive Garden is charging their guests to play games.
What's next, Cracker Barrel renting out their famous peg board games.
